Pseudo-erosion of cervix uteri

Erosion of the cervix is the most common disease of the female sexual sphere. With this pathology, small ulcers appear on the mucous membrane of the cervix. In general, erosion is a wound and is distinguished by a red spot on the pink mucosa. And in the absence of treatment of the pathological process, true erosion becomes pseudo-erosion. In general, the cervix is a connecting link between the vagina and the uterus itself, which is a cylindrical hollow organ with a mucous layer inside. And if the "native" cells of the mucous membrane of the cervix are replaced by mucous membranes from the cervical canal, then one speaks of ectopia, or pseudo-erosion of the cervix. Cylindrical epithelium grows not only on the surface, but also in the depths of tissues, forming erosive glands. This stage of pathology is called glandular pseudo-erosion of the cervix. However, in addition to the erosive glands, papillary growths occur on the surface of erosion, and the woman develops glandular papillary pseudo-erosion of the cervix, which may exist for several months or even years. Subsequently, the inflammatory process fades, and epidermisable glandular pseudo-erosion appears, in which atypical cells are dystrophized and replaced by a flat multilayered epithelium. Quite often, when pseudo-erosion with epidermis occurs, the ducts of the erosive glands are clogged secret, and then cysts occur, which leads to the formation of glandular-cystic pseudo-erosion of the cervix.

Pseudo erosion of the cervix: causes

Most often, the disease occurs in girls and young women, since the epithelium of the inner shell of the uterus is quite sensitive to fluctuations in the level of hormones in the blood and especially to estrogens. Because of this, these cells periodically blend outward and lining the cervical mucosa, and then a "native" layer appears again - a flat epithelium. Thus, the main cause of the appearance of ectopia are hormonal fluctuations, because of which pseudoerosion may appear during puberty, in young girls, in pregnancy or in the use of hormonal contraception. However, the disease can be a consequence of inflammatory processes in the vagina (infections, colpitis, vaginitis, vaginosis) or mechanical damage (during childbirth, rough sexual intercourse, abortion).

Pseudo-erosion of the cervix: symptoms

Quite often the disease does not manifest itself in any way, and nothing disturbs the woman. In this case, she learns of ectopy when gynecological examination. However, in many cases, the symptoms of pseudo-erosion include the appearance of brown or pink spotting, especially after intercourse, as well as painful sensations in it.

Pseudo-erosion of the cervix: treatment

When a disease is detected, the following examinations are mandatory:

Treatment of pseudo-erosion is medicated and non-medicamentous. At the first doctor usually appointed drugs that fight the cause of pathology (antibiotics, antimicrobial or hormonal agents) and repairing damaged cells.

With non-pharmacological method, chemical preparations are used to influence the affected area of the cervix ñ nitrogen (cryodestruction), radio waves, laser (laser destruction), electroradiative. The method is usually chosen by the doctor taking into account the features of the course of the disease. After such treatment, sexual rest is shown for 1-3 months. Neutering women and pregnant women are usually not recommended for chemical effects on the cervix: it is better to treat pseudoerosion after childbirth.
