Turkey steak

Turkey is a wonderful easily digestible dietary meat. To prepare steaks from turkey, we use meat from the breast or shanks. Of course, in any case, it is best to use the meat of a young bird. The meat of adult turkeys requires preliminary careful beating and relatively long marinating. Let's look at a few recipes for how to cook steaks from turkey.

Steak steak recipe

Let's prepare the meat first. We will wash it, we will dry it with a linen napkin and cut into steaks about 1.5 cm thick (we try to cut across the fibers). If necessary, lightly steak the steaks with a chef's hammer and marinate.

Mix the butter and lemon juice, add the chopped garlic, chopped greens and dry spices. You can add in the marinade 10-20 ml of white or pink table non-sulphated wine. Leave to marinate for at least 30 minutes, and you can have an hour for 2 (longer than necessary). Onions in marinade to use do not advise - it gives a characteristic aftertaste that is pleasant to far not all (however, it's a matter of taste).

Grilled turkey steak

Immediately before cooking, turn the steaks on clean cloths or a colander to remove excess marinade.

Preparation

Lubricate a well-heated cast-iron griddle with a piece of lard (so as not to burn). We lay out the steaks and fry on medium-high heat for 3-5 minutes on each side. Now turn again with a turn in relation to the steak to the bottom of the frying pan by 90 degrees - thus, at the bottom we get a three-dimensional lattice pattern. Fry 2-3 minutes on each side.

If we cook outdoors, we can grill the steaks on the grill grill (grat). The method of cooking on an open fire is also quite good, the main thing is not to overcook. Of course, grate should be greased with bacon. But throwing a colander in this option is not necessary. During cooking, you can sprinkle steaks with table wine or beer.

Turkey steaks in the oven

This requires a refractory shape (glass, ceramic or stainless steel). If baked in the form with a lid (or under the foil - the meat will turn out to be without crust).

Preparation

Lubricate the slightly heated form with a piece of fat and lay out the steaks. Bake for 30-50 minutes (depending on temperature). If you bake without a lid, after a lapse of 2/3 of the time, you can splash a little beer or light table wine into the form - the meat will be juicier, aromatic and tastier.

To the turkey steaks, it is good to serve vegetable salads, hot sauces (for example, tomato, chocolate, mole, etc.). As a side dish, rice, beans, hominy , polenta or potatoes are suitable. Do not forget also about fresh greens.
