Yuskaran National Park


At 7 km from the town of Yuskaran in Honduras , the national park of the same name is located - a small but very interesting tourist attraction. Here, as in other parks in the country, you can get to know the exotic nature of Honduras, enjoy active rest and make unique photos.

What is interesting about Yuskaran Park?

The main tourist attractions in the reserve are:

  1. Climb to the mountains of El Fogón (1,825 m), El Volcán (height of 1980 m) and Montserrat (1783 m). The conquest of these heights is a simple task that any traveler can do. However, this applies only to one of the four marked routes of the reserve. Three others are suitable only for people in excellent physical shape.
  2. Paragliding. Climb to the top takes from 2 to 4 hours, and from the top offers a superb view of the surrounding area and lying on the palm of the city of Yuskaran. Fans of this sport assure that the summit of Montserrat is the best for this entertainment in the whole of Central America.
  3. Exploring the wildlife of the park. Among the variety of the flora of Yuscarana, the most valuable are oak and pine (Pinus oocarpa) forests, which are very few in the region. This area is also characterized by abundant grassy vegetation, the predominance of small thorny bushes and trees belonging to dry tropical forests. On the tops of the mountains, hidden all year round by clouds, there are broad-leaved, coniferous and mixed forests. Other trees here reach a height of 20-30 m. In the park you can see many orchids and bromeliads.
  4. Acquaintance with animals living in the National Park of Yuskaran. The biodiversity of the reserve's fauna is also protected by the state. There are many birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals. They are in a natural environment and people close to themselves are not allowed.

How to get to the Yuskaran National Park?

The small town of Yuscaran is located 65 km from the capital of Honduras, Tegucigalpa . You can get here on one of the regular buses that go this way daily in the number of several flights. If you are traveling on a rented car, the shortest route from Tegucigalpa to the park will be the CA-6 route. The road takes you no more than 1.5 hours.

Before entering the National Park itself, it is most convenient to take a taxi.
