Potato pies are extremely satisfying and economical. Yes, they can be called a useful or low-calorie dish, but for a severe winter period, which is typical for our climate, there is nothing more ideal.
We decided to devote this article to the variety of potato pies.
Cake with minced meat and potatoes
Ingredients:
For the test:
- flour - 300 g;
- salt;
- butter - 75 g;
- margarine - 75 g;
- water - 5-6 tbsp. spoons;
- milk - 1 tbsp. a spoon.
For filling:
- onions - 1 pc .;
- carrots - 2 pieces;
- ground beef - 250 g;
- ketchup - 2 tbsp. spoons;
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tbsp. a spoon;
- flour - 1 1/2 tbsp. spoons;
- salt, pepper - to taste;
- potatoes - 2-3 pcs.
Preparation
Butter and margarine at room temperature, grind with flour and salt to crumb. Add 5 tablespoons of ice water to the mixture and form a ball of dough, which should be wrapped in a food film and sent to the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
While the dough is resting, let's deal with the filling. In the frying pan, we pass the carrots, onion and minced meat to golden color, after which the fire is subtracted, we pour the ingredients with ketchup , Worcestershire sauce, sprinkle with flour and spices. Fry the vegetables for another minute, and then we put potatoes, previously peeled and sliced, to them, pour 150 ml of water and bring the liquid to a boil. Next, the fire is subtracted and extinguished all together for 15 minutes.
Oven reheat to 200 degrees. Half of the dough is rolled and laid out in a mold, we spread the filling on top of the dough and cover it with a second layer of dough. In the center of the upper layer, make a hole for the exit of steam. Lubricate the surface of the pie with potatoes and meat with milk and bake it for 30 minutes.
Fish pie with potatoes
The variety of fish pies makes them available to anyone. Whether it's a pie with saury, halibut, trout and potatoes, they will all be equally tasty, but their taste will be different.
Ingredients:
- potatoes - 1 kg;
- butter - 1 tbsp. spoon + 25 g;
- milk - 2 tbsp. spoons;
- flour - 25 g;
- green onions - 4 branches;
- milk - 400 ml;
- fish - 400 g;
- Dijon mustard - 1 teaspoon;
- corn - 1 handful;
- green peas - 1 handful;
- grated hard cheese - 100 g.
Preparation
Oven reheat to 200 degrees. We boil the potatoes to the full readiness, and then we rub with milk and butter. We season the mashed potatoes with salt and pepper.
In a separate frying pan, cook the roast, melting the butter and mix it with flour. Fill the handle with milk and mix it, so that there are no lumps left. We bring the sauce to a boil and boil for 3-4 minutes. Ready mixed sauce with grated cheese, add to it fish, mustard, chopped green onions, corn and peas.
We spread the filling for our cake into a mold and cover it with a layer of potatoes. We bake a pie 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Pie with champignons and potatoes
Ingredients:

- flour - 1 1/2 items;
- grated cheese - 1 item;
- salt, pepper - to taste;
- butter - 6 tbsp. spoons;
- vegetable oil - 2 tbsp. spoons;
- ice water - 2 tbsp. spoons.
For filling:
- potatoes - 3 pcs .;
- grated hard cheese - 1 item;
- flour - 1/4 of the item;
- butter - 4 tbsp. spoons;
- mushrooms - 250 g.
Preparation
Let's start with a pie test with potatoes and cheese. For the dough mix the flour with cheese, salt, pepper and cold butter. Add the vegetable oil to the mixture and grind the mixture with your fingers. To the finished crumb of dough, add ice water and form a ball from the dough. Ball
We boil the potatoes to half-cooked and cut into cubes, mix it with cheese, a small amount of flour, salt and pepper. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and fry mushrooms on it for 5 minutes.
The dough is rolled and laid out in a mold. On the layer of dough we put half the potatoes, after it half the mushrooms and repeat the layers.
