Euharis - home care

On the windowsill of every mistress, tropical plants began to appear more often, euharis is no exception. In nature, this beautiful flower grows on the Amazon coast in dense tropical forests, so Eucharis is also called the Amazon lily.

But we are not in the Amazon, so I would like to tell you about the care of eukheris at home.

Problems encountered in the cultivation of eucharis

  1. Euharis does not blossom. The main reason that your flower does not bloom is sudden temperature changes. Euharis is very afraid of low temperatures, so grow it only at a temperature above 15 ° C, otherwise your flower will die. Moreover, the temperature difference in the room where it is located should be no more than ± 2 ° С.
  2. The eucharis turns yellow. Usually, this happens in the case when the flower is constantly in direct sunlight, while they are destructive for it. However, you do not need to hide it in the penumbra, since especially during the flowering period, it needs light.
  3. The eucharis is twisted with leaves. This state of eucharis can indicate that the root of the flower is damaged. You should also check the flower for pests. If after you have examined the flower, you did not find the pests, then it is about the wrong care of the flower, but we'll talk about this a little later.

There are other problems that occur in the flower during its growth, but they are all solvable if properly taken care of.

Proper care of eukheris

Euharis is a rather fastidious plant, so it requires very serious care, namely:

  1. Temperature and lighting. This flower is very thermophilic, so keeping it at low temperatures means destroying the plant. The minimum temperature in winter can be 16 ° C. If you want to speed up the flowering process, then you need to increase the temperature and give it more light. However, as already mentioned earlier, in any case not to expose to direct sunlight. Lighting should be moderate.
  2. Watering the eucharis. During flowering, the plant should be watered abundantly, but euharis should not be in a damp soil, as in a swamp, because this can lead to decay of the root. In August and March the flower is in a state of rest, so it does not require much moisture, however, do not bring to the drying of the soil. Watering should be done every 3-4 days.
  3. Primer for the eucharis. It should be loose and well-fertilized. In order to obtain a fertile soil for eukaris, it is necessary to mix compost, coarse sand, loam and leaf land in a proportion of 2: 2: 1: 4. If this is difficult for you, then it is possible, in extreme cases, to manage a special primer for bulbous plants, which can be bought in a flower shop.
  4. Fertilizer. Every summer and spring, two weeks before the end of flowering, the plant must be fertilized with a special liquid intended for flowering plants.
  5. Humidity of air . As for humidity, there are no special preferences for the flower, however, it is necessary periodically to wipe the flower leaves with a damp sponge, and in the summer season regularly spray.

These are the main requirements that you need to adhere to while taking care of the flower, then you will not have a question why the eucharis does not bloom or why there are any other problems with it.

Eucharis transplantation

Planting and multiplying the eucharis is not necessary more than three times a year. If your flower is in a state of rest, then you can safely take up the transplant, however, please note that during the transplant, you must save the earth's clod of the plant and, together with it, replant it in a new soil. During the care and reproduction of Eucharis, sprouts do not need to be planted separately, because alone the flower quickly fades.

Planting bulbs of eucharis is necessary in the soil to a depth of about 4-5 cm. For planting, a very nutritious soil is needed, which described above, if possible, you can add more fertilizer. After planting, you do not need to water the plant very often. The pot for planting should be wide enough, but not deep.

Diseases of eucharis

Most often, ticks , aphids, scutes and thrips are brought to the eukheris diseases - these are pests that must be disposed of at the very beginning of their appearance, otherwise you can lose the flower. During the defeat of the flower pests the leaves begin to dry, crumble and the flower dies.

In order to get rid of pests, it is necessary to spray the plant with a solution of 15% actinic.
