Exercises for developing attention

We are distracted by phone calls, forgetting what we wanted to do a minute ago, absurd thoughts "confuse" the mind when we need to concentrate on work as never, and when we meet an interesting stranger, we immediately forget his name, as we were distracted by his " ". Do not you think it's time to tie all this up and get to work on your careless brain? That's why we'll talk with you about the need for exercises to develop attention in our lives.

What contributes to the development of attention?

Attention is the ability to focus on a particular activity. Theoretically, this is common to all people, but in practice, for some reason, it turns out in units.

Before you immerse yourself in exercises to develop memory and attention, we suggest that you look at the factors that contribute to the development of mental abilities.

  1. The correct organization of the workplace means that on your desk there should not be objects that distract you from the business, and the necessary things should always be at hand. A piled-up workspace speaks of a mess in your head, so you need to get out first.
  2. Combination of activities - for efficiency of work it is very important to be able to switch. For example, when preparing for an exam, you understand that from a certain moment you are reading the textbook for nothing, without realizing anything. Then you need to switch, and read a little detective or cookbook. This is the simplest exercise to develop voluntary attention, that is, to develop the ability to consciously shift one's attention from one subject to another.
  3. Also for attention it is very important that you are healthy physically and mentally. Do not ask yourself to be 100% concentrated if you have the flu.
  4. An excellent exercise for the development of concentration - this is a summary. At school we hated this kind of activity, but now it will help not to accidentally switch the brain to automatic reading or listening.

A classic exercise for the development of attention stability is contemplation. You should learn to look around consciously. That is, go to the store - watch carefully what is happening around, what people are doing, how they look, whether the sun is shining, what color the sky is, what temperature is on the street.

You can also practice with the picture: look at the picture for 3 - 4 seconds, and then, hiding it, remember what details you saw. If you remember 5 details - you need to get involved in training, if up to 9 - everything is fine with attention, if over 9 - everything is just fine.
