It is quite normal to feel sourness in your mouth, if before that you ate the appropriate food or very unusual dishes. Diseases of the teeth
Before you suspect a disease of the gastrointestinal tract or liver, it is worth paying attention to the state of the teeth. The presence of tooth decay, darkening of the teeth, pain or suppuration of the gums - all this may be the answer to the question why the mouth has a sour taste. Gastritis and ulcer

- heartburn;
- belching with a sour taste;
- nausea, vomiting;

A bitter sour taste in the mouth
If patients with gastrointestinal illnesses complain mainly on an acid-sweet or sour-salty taste in their mouth, a sour stomach with an admixture of bitterness can talk about diseases of the liver and its "neighbor" - the gall bladder. In particular, this symptom is characteristic for:
- dyskinesia (impaired tone) bile ducts;
- cholelithiasis;
- chronic cholecystitis (inflammation of the gallbladder).
Sour taste after pregnancy
To future mothers the problem of sourness or bitterness in the mouth is familiar, and it is especially urgent in late terms. The phenomenon is not connected with pathologies in any way and has several explanations:
- First, increasing, the uterus begins to squeeze the internal organs, in particular - the stomach, which in response to this can increase the secretion of hydrochloric acid.
- Secondly, the body of a pregnant woman has increased the level of progesterone, which is responsible for relaxing the hollow organs, which leads to ingestion of bile in the esophagus and stomach.
All this translates into a bitter-sour taste in the mouth, which the expectant mother can take for a symptom of a serious illness. Reinsurance will not be superfluous, but worry ahead of time to anything.
By the way, bitterness in the mouth is often a consequence of taking antibiotics, which lead to a violation of healthy intestinal microflora. An unpleasant aftertaste can be a reminder of freshly drunk alcohol or a too satisfying dinner with an abundance of fatty dishes.
