Ready-made sugar syrup can be purchased in many specialized confectionery shops, but why waste extra money if it can easily be cooked at home.
For the preparation of an ideal sugar syrup, it is desirable to have a cooking thermometer at hand, but you can do without it, if you take into account the recommendations of this material.
Sugar syrup - recipe
Let's start with cooking the basic syrup, which is usually used for making cocktails and other drinks. As the main, we decided to choose a mint syrup recipe, but you can replace mint leaves with any spices or eliminate flavor additives altogether.
Ingredients:
- water 240 ml;
- granulated sugar - 145 g;
- mint leaves - 1 tbsp.
Preparation
The recipe is simple to remember simply because the proportions of the ingredients in it are equal, and the technology of preparing the sugar syrup is limited to a couple of steps.
Combine all the ingredients together in a saucepan. Put the dishes on a minimal fire and let the crystals of sugar completely dissolve. After that, strain the syrup and pour into a sealed container. Keep in cool for up to one month.
Sugar syrup for biscuit impregnation
To impregnate biscuit cakes you can use a simple sugar syrup, like the one we described in the recipe above, but you can enrich the syrup with taste and weld it with citrus juice and dates.
Ingredients:
- dates - 490 g;
- water 980 ml;
- orange juice - 480 ml;
- juice of 1 lemon.
Preparation
Fill dates with water and put on medium fire for about half an hour. After a while, strain the water, and wring out the damp dates yourself through gauze. The resulting broth is mixed with orange juice, return to the fire and boil until the amount of liquid in the dishes is reduced by half. Squeeze the lemon juice into the syrup and use as directed.
