The recipe for making a poppy cake is quite interesting and unusual. First we take the eggs, separate the proteins from the yolks and beat the whites with a mixer first at low speed, gradually increasing them, until a lush white foam forms. Accurately pour half of the sugar and mix thoroughly. In another bowl, beat the egg yolks, the remaining portion of sugar and melted butter. Add finely chopped fried almonds, dried poppy and gently knead. In the resulting mass in small portions we put the whipped proteins and mix everything in circular motions from top to bottom. The form for baking is greased with butter and pour our dough into it, evenly distributing it with a spoon. We send it to a preheated oven and bake for about 40 minutes. Then we take out, cut into 2 identical cakes and leave to cool.

This time we are preparing a cream for our walnut-poppy cake: whisk the cream well, add caramel syrup and swollen gelatin to them. All carefully mix and set for an hour in the refrigerator, so that the cream as it should, froze and did not spread. Next gently pour a little flour and cooked poppy. Thoroughly knead the homogeneous dough and set aside. Now beat the whipped proteins into lush foam and put them into our dough. Pour the mass into a greased baking dish and send it for 55 minutes in a preheated oven to 175 ° C. At the end of time, we check the readiness of the cake with a toothpick.
