In the annals, the castle Valle begins to appear in 1330, and the owner is a certain Aeschild Kraige. In the XV century, the castle undergoes some administrative changes - it is divided into the western and eastern parts. Each one was a separate estate. That is characteristic, approximately from the same period the destiny of the lock is closely connected with a female hand. Men, by the way, stay in the castle after sunset was strictly prohibited.

A bright spot in the history of the castle Valle marked a fire in 1893 due to the riot of fire the building was under reconstruction for about 10 years. At the same time the castle was enriched with elaborate turrets, stairs and spiers.

Vallee Castle today

Now the structure is given the status of a cultural monument, and it is under the control and protection of the state. By and large, today it is an ordinary apartment house. Conditionally it is divided into the Red and White palaces, in the first live ladies from noble and noble families, in the second - representatives of the estates are somewhat lower. The castle contains income from agriculture and hunting grounds. A contribution is made by renting houses for tourists.

Organized tours on the grounds of the estate are not held. The entrance for tourists inside the castle is also closed. The surrounding area and the visiting park are open from 8.00 until twilight. Nearby camping is available, there are bike paths in the forests around the park area. It is not forbidden to organize picnics in the park, and also to walk with pets.

Neighborhood of the castle

It is located on the island of Zeeland, in the commune of Stevens, 7 km south of the city of Köge. The architecture of the structure is somewhat elaborate, although characteristic of that time. On the sides of the building are built two towers of different shapes - round and square, there are a lot of mansards, small towers and spiers. The castle itself is made of red brick.

What is characteristic, the neighborhood of the estate is not inferior in beauty to the building itself. The territory of the castle Valle is striking with its spaciousness - its area totals about 4000 hectares of land. The building itself is surrounded by a wide moat filled with water. Through it a stone bridge is laid, which in the warm season is simply buried in the greenery of water lilies. In addition to this passage to the castle, there are several small wooden bridges.

Surrounding the castle Valle is a wonderful English-style park with well-kept flower beds, bushes, centuries-old trees, ponds and clean paths for hiking. However, the farther away from the castle, the less noticeable is the person's hand - the park gradually turns into a full-fledged forest. By the way, the neighborhood of the castle in the XIX century were transformed into romantic landscapes, which completely satisfied the refined taste of ladies. The basis was French gardens in 1720, and the lime avenues of Valle enjoyed great popularity. But later the garden was rebuilt somewhat, and found the typical English features.
