Consequences of quitting smoking

It's strange, at first we develop this pernicious habit, demonstrating that it's fashionable. Famous actors in films appear before us with cigarettes, reverently releasing smoke in the frame. Without realizing it, many people adopt this image and now the hand reaches for the cigarettes. Of course, smoking is more a habit than dependence. Or even so: smoking is dependence on habit. We understand why ...

Body and head

Our body is a unique system that can self-repair. If nicotine has been ingested for a long time, the body can easily recover after this process has been stopped. Our body does not need nicotine, we live well without it.

After quitting smoking, undoubtedly, the body is changing. The consequences of quitting smoking are manifested in symptoms such as cough, mild dizziness, fatigue. This is the natural state of the body, as it is being cleansed. The duration of such a condition depends on how long a person smoked. Cough after quitting smoking can bother you for a long time, and some people do not. Either way, after giving up smoking, your body will say "thank you" and your physical condition will improve.

Changes in the refusal of smoking also occur with our psychological state. Refusal from habitual behavior, from smoking, is emotionally experienced harder.

Smoking is a pleasure for spiritually poor people. What else can be so pleased, as a flicking match or a cigarette lighter, flowing smoke, chatter with colleagues ... Apparently, there is nothing more to be rejoiced and nothing. If a person has nothing to do, which you can sincerely sympathize with, he will smoke. At least in order to "kill time." He likes the process itself, which, even if you want to quit, you need to replace something else. In order to have new ideas, inspiration for any activity, you need to enrich yourself spiritually, get carried away by something, have a hobby. Then you will move to a higher level of psychological health, and it will be easier for you to give up your habit. Change yourself and you can change your habits.

How to do it?

All the "cigarettes" know about the advantages of smoking cessation, but only a few can quit. It is worth recalling that abandoning this addiction, you will extend your life, improve the quality of your health. Chances to give birth, and for starters and do not conceive at all, a healthy child you will increase. The latter is very important, because the quality of our life already wants the best, and the infertility problem has already quite sharply defined itself. If you can affect your health at least a third, then why not abandon bad habits? The main thing is to know how to do it right.

You can refuse from smoking in two ways. The first option is to quit quickly, without thinking twice. Sharp refusal from smoking assumes the presence of a great desire and willpower. A strong-willed person, driven by a powerful stimulus, will be able to overcome himself and give up smoking. It really is not easy and it takes a lot of effort, but maybe it's worth it.

Option two - the gradual withdrawal from smoking. Of course, this is also a good option, but in this case the probability of a fiasco is much higher. A person who decides to quit gradually as if "tries" to do it. His desire and intention does not have enough strength. Refuse once and for all he is not what he can not, does not want. It's just an excuse for yourself. Believe me, even after 20 years of smoking experience, a person is able to abandon this habit in one day and never return to it.

There are three stages of quitting smoking:

  1. Decision to quit. The most important and fundamental stage. Be firm, in the end. Are not you tired of being a slave to your habits?
  2. The turning point or restructuring. The body feels the changes and begins work on self-recovery. The psychological tolerance of giving up a habit is quite painful.
  3. Recovery. After the first month of quitting smoking, there is relief. Craving for smoking weakened, tk. The habit has exhausted itself and, perhaps, has been replaced by another.

A little about how to facilitate quitting. It is clear that no one will do it for you, so do not change your decision. It is necessary to protect oneself from temptations, for example, stop going out on a smoke break with a colleague. Explain the situation to him and just avoid such moments. A good colleague, and even more so a friend will understand and support. Do not tempt yourself, try to reduce communication in a circle of "cigarettes" to a minimum, at least the first time. The first two or three weeks are the most difficult, checking for strength, so to speak. Further it will be easier. Make a decision and believe in yourself, you will succeed!
