Citramon - indications for use

Citramon is one of the most popular medicines, which many are stored in a home medicine cabinet. This tool is highly effective at a relatively low cost.

Citramon - composition and mechanism of action

In Soviet times, the combination Citramon included a set of the following substances: 0.24 g of acetylsalicylic acid, 0.18 g of phenacetin, 0.015 g of cocoa powder, 0.02 g of citric acid. Today, phenacetin is not used because of toxicity, and new drugs, produced under the names with the word "Citramon", are produced by a large number of pharmaceutical companies.

Most of these drugs have a composition, the main active ingredients of which are:

  1. Acetylsalicylic acid - has antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effect, promotes anesthesia, moderately inhibits platelet aggregation and thrombosis, improves microcirculation in inflammatory foci;
  2. Paracetamol - has analgesic, antipyretic and weak anti-inflammatory effect, which is due to its effect on the thermoregulation center and the ability to inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins in peripheral tissues;
  3. Caffeine - promotes the expansion of blood vessels, increases the reflex excitability of the spinal cord, excites the respiratory and vasomotor centers, reduces platelet aggregation, reduces the feeling of fatigue and drowsiness.

Modern variants of Citramon differ in the concentration of active substances and in the input auxiliary components, but are characterized by a similar effect. Consider the composition of some drugs:
