Classification of conflicts

Every day there are conflicts in society. The latter are diverse in their scope, and this affects the life of both the conflicting parties and their surroundings.

But conflicts never bring positive changes, because for more than one decade there is a science of conflictology. It is she who studies the essence, the classification of conflicts and, undoubtedly, the methods for their solution.

Classification of conflicts

Consider the main types:

  1. The true conflict arises in real time and rationally, without exaggeration, is perceived by the parties (for example, the wife wants to use a room free in an apartment for needlework, and her husband seeks to turn a private office from this room, the couple enters a true conflict situation).
  2. Symbolic. The circumstances in this conflict are very easy to change. But, often, opponents do not consider it necessary to realize this (the disagreement that has arisen between the spouses turns into a symbolic one when the couple does not see that it is possible to get rid of the problem by taking another room).
  3. Shifted. Its basis can be a conflict that is unconsciously hidden. The emerging misunderstanding between the spouses turns into a shifted conflict in the event that they do not at all seek to convert the room into a private office, and in a collision there appears some other, more serious, sometimes even unconscious conflict (the offense of one of the partners, he tries to "annoy" the other with his actions).
  4. Wrongly attributed. It arises because of mistakenly interpreted problems (the child is scolded for what he did, following the instructions of his parents).
  5. Latent. The disagreement that could have occurred, but did not happen, because for certain reasons, it was not realized by the parties.
  6. False. Objective grounds for misunderstanding are absent. Conflict situation exists due to erroneous understanding.

Social conflicts and their classification

  1. Individual conflict arises at the level of individual consciousness, when there is an excessive dependence or tension.
  2. Interpersonal disagreement arises from the interaction of individuals from different social groups, social interests, goals that do not coincide.
  3. Conflict between groups. Individual representatives of such groups participate in the conflict only because of their belonging to a particular group.

Interpersonal conflicts and their classification

  1. In the sphere of existence: family, property, business and others.
  2. On functional consequences and effect: constructive and destructive.
  3. By the criterion of truth and reality: authentic, random, false, incorrectly attributed, biased, latent.

Classification of family conflicts

  1. Conflict situations most often arise in the family and distinguish their following varieties.
  2. Conflicts of the conjugal plan can arise as a result of the incompatibility of the psychosexual nature, the lack of positive emotions (lack of affection, compliments from the partner), excessive satisfaction of personal needs (material embezzlement on oneself, drugs, alcohol, etc.)
  3. Conflict between children and parents appears because of the costs in children's upbringing, the age crisis in the baby.
  4. The reason for the conflicts of relatives is their authoritarian intervention.
  5. Conflict positional kind arises when there is a struggle for leadership, when one of the members of the family does not feel its importance in the family.
