For fans of mint flavor we offer to prepare a refreshing mint liquor at home. Such a drink will be an excellent addition to a feast or will serve as the basis for an original cocktail according to an individual recipe.

How to make mint liquor at home - a recipe for vodka

Sprigs of mint are washed, dried and crushed. We put the fragrant mass on the bottom of the jar and fill it with quality vodka. For liquor, you can take both fresh mint and dried. The latter will require about forty grams. We leave the workpiece for two weeks in a dark and cool place, covering the container tightly with a lid.

After a lapse of time from sugar and water purified cook syrup. To do this, we connect the components in a scoop or saucepan, warm, stirring, to the boil and dissolve all the crystals, after which we boil a few more minutes and let it cool.

While the syrup cools, strain the infusion from the admixture of leaves through several layers of gauze. Now we combine syrup and mint vodka, mix intensively, place in glassware, cork and leave for another month in a cool, darkened place. After a while, we pour the finished liquor into the storage bottles.

A quick recipe for mint liquor at home on alcohol

Sprigs of mint for preparation of liquor should be washed and dried. Now cut the mint leaves and put them in a glass jar. There, if desired, we throw anise seeds. Fill the contents with alcohol and put it for a week in a dark and cool place. After the passage of time, the obtained alcohol tincture is filtered through several layers of gauze, poured into a clean and dry container and covered with a lid.

Now we are preparing a sweet liqueur base - syrup. Pour in a saucepan of purified water, pour the sugar and heat the mixture, stirring, to a boil. We reduce the heat and boil the contents of the pan, continuing to stir occasionally, for five minutes. Remove the container with the syrup from the fire and leave it to cool down at room conditions.

Combine the cooled syrup with mint infusion, shake well and pour into bottles. You can try this liqueur right away. But if the drink stands for a month in a cool, darkened place, its taste will become more saturated, balanced and deep.

Lemon-mint liqueur at home

My lemons, peeled off the peel and white skin, and cut the flesh into small pieces and put them in a jar. Mint leaves are washed, dried, mixed with zest and white skin of lemons, rubbed with a pestle or kneaded with hands and sent to lemon pulp. Fill the components with alcohol and put in the heat for five days. After the passage of time, we filter the infusion through several layers of gauze, carefully squeeze it, throw out the hard component, and add sugar granules to the liquid and mix until all the crystals have dissolved. The sweetness of the drink can be slightly reduced or increased if desired, varying the amount of sugar.

We give the liquor a week to brew, after which we filter once more, filter and bottle.

With what to drink mint liquor?

Mint liquor can be served alone or prepare from it various cocktails. This drink is perfectly combined with champagne, vodka, martini , and also supplemented with other liqueurs, soft drinks or juice. Proportions can be very different and are selected often to taste. Preferably, such cocktails are served with ice cubes.
